    I got her almost four years ago from a shelter. The shelter practically bribed me to take her, apparently she'd been through a dozen foster homes and everyone returned her because she was so unfriendly. I got the feeling she just needed some stability.

    I didn't touch her for the first year I had her, she just watched me from a distance. I didn't really mind, I'm also not warm and cuddly. Last year was the first time I ever heard her purr.

    Now she rolls around on the floor and cries if I don't cuddle her enough (not sure where "enough" is, it seems to be over two hours). She used to hate all people, everyone. Last week we had friends over she'd never met before and she was purring

    and having a great time. She knows a lot of words and responds without any other prompting (ie I can say "wanna go to upstairs?" and she gets up and runs to upstairs).
