‘Adopted a former “nightmare” baby’: Woman rescues cat who was returned from 12 foster homes for being “unfriendly,” she gives her stability and the cute kitty returns the favor with unconditional love

Hey, guys. We have something really impawtant to say: cats are like babies. Well, cats are babies, but we mean that just like babies, cats need stability to really shine. They need time to open up, a consistent routine, and lots of listening when it comes to their care and needs. They're not like dogs that just generally do okay with most situations - cats are more careful, more calculated (or cat-culated, if you're feeling punny). But, with the right amount of patience, space, and attention, they will become more loyal than any dog ever could be.

That's why a lot of cats are seen as "unfriendly", in our humble opinion - they're just not given the pawsitivity they need in their environment in order to show their safe side. This same happened with this purrticular rescue cat, who was returned from 12 foster homes for being a nightmare to live with. Well, one woman saw her potential, adopted her, and let her come on her own terms. Now, the kitty cries if her hooman doesn't cuddle her enough. Scroll down to read the wholesome story below!

  • That might be one of the cutest cats we've ever seen, and believe us, we've seen a lot of cute cats. She looks like a cute cup of bubble tea, but of course, she's too cute to slurp up. We're glad she found her hooman and her hooman found her.

    I got her almost four years ago from a shelter. The shelter practically bribed me to take her, apparently she'd been through a dozen foster homes and everyone returned her because she was so unfriendly. I got the feeling she just needed some stability.

    I didn't touch her for the first year I had her, she just watched me from a distance. I didn't really mind, I'm also not warm and cuddly. Last year was the first time I ever heard her purr.

    Now she rolls around on the floor and cries if I don't cuddle her enough (not sure where "enough" is, it seems to be over two hours). She used to hate all people, everyone. Last week we had friends over she'd never met before and she was purring

    and having a great time. She knows a lot of words and responds without any other prompting (ie I can say "wanna go to upstairs?" and she gets up and runs to upstairs).

  • It really does take a lot of patience to get some cats to trust you. One of our kitties took nearly half a year after we rescued her to warm up to us. She taught us to listen more instead of acting on what we thought was right. She's currently curled up on our laps, so we think we did a good job in the end.
